Armed police rushed to a Glenfield house this evening around 5pm. A police cordon was established and part of Sandown Road was closed. Local residents reported hearing bangs followed by smoke. A driver has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Shepshed. Police received a call at around 1.10am this morning Wednesday (10 June) regarding the collision on the A512 Ashby Road West near Shepshed. The collision involved a green Ford Fiesta and a white HGV. Firearms discharge in Newbold Verdon
Detectives are investigating a report of a firearms discharge in Newbold Verdon last night. Officers were called to an address in Brascote Lane shortly before 10.40pm on Tuesday (9 June) following a report that gunshots had been heard. In the interest of public and police safety, armed officers were deployed. On arrival at the scene, damage was found to have been caused to a property and a car parked on the driveway which were consistent with a firearm having been discharged.
