FREE PINTS For World Cup TODAY - Summer On The Square

The Opening Ceremony for the World Cup will be live on the big screen from 6:30pm. Mexico will kick off the first match of the tournament at 8pm today (Thursday 11th June).

Drop whatever you are doing. Today, Jubilee Square has officially transformed into Leicester’s first-ever pop-up outdoor beer garden in Jubilee Square, and we are kicking things off with a massive, unmissable celebration.

No ticket links, no annoying booking, and absolutely zero reservations required—just show up, grab a seat, and soak in the music & atmosphere.

To properly welcome the start of the World Cup Tournament, Summer On The Square are giving away 172 free drinks to celebrate the launch today (Thursday 11^th ) & tomorrow( Friday 12^th )! 

Why 172? Because a record-breaking 172 goals were scored during the 2022 World Cup, and because we love a football fact almost as much as we love a cold, free drink!

The food line up includes: hand stretched pizza, gourmet hotdogs, homemade tacos, a full bar, hot drinks, Derbyshire Bluebells luxury Ice Cream and many more food dropsthrough the Summer.

The Big Launch: Thursday 11th June

The celebration starts this afternoon. Get down early if you want to grab a freebie.

4:30 PM — Jubilee Square Opens: If you’re over 18, we’re opening the bar tab and the first 172 people can order a completely free pint, cider, or Prosecco on us to celebrate!

6:30 PM — World Cup Opening Ceremony starts.

8:00 PM — Mexico vs. South Africa: The first official match of the tournament – they’ll be tacos!

Friday 12th June:

If you miss out today, do not panic. We are doing it all over again tomorrow.

172 Free Drinks: The bar opens from midday, the taps flow, and the bar tab continues with another 172 free drinks on a first-come, first-served basis.

8:00 PM — Canada vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina:

Here is how the next week looks on the big screen:

Saturday 13th brings you Qatar vs. Switzerland at 8:00 PM. On Sunday 14th, we have a massive double-header with Germany vs. Curaçao at 6:00 PM followed by Netherlands vs. Japan at 9:00 PM.

On Monday 15th Spain vs. Cape Town at 5:00 PM and Belgium vs. Egypt at 8:00 PM.

On Tuesday 16th, watch France take on Senegal at 8:00 PM.

Then comes Wednesday 17th—the one you've been waiting for. Catch Ronaldo in action for Portugal vs. Congo DR at 6:00 PM, leading right into the big one: England vs. Croatia at 9:00 PM.

Important Info!

Summer on the Square runs from 11th June -19th July for the duration of the World Cup, is completely FREE with no reservations needed, but when the free drink giveaways are gone, they are gone.

Strictly 1 drink per person (share that love!), and you must be 18 or over to claim an alcoholic beverage. Note that for the massive England vs. Croatia match next Wednesday, the site will be strictly 18+ to ensure a safe, buzzing stadium atmosphere. Security and bag searches in place.
