A driver has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Shepshed. Detectives are investigating a report of a firearms discharge in Newbold Verdon last night. Officers were called to an address in Brascote Lane shortly before 10.40pm on Tuesday (9 June) following a report that gunshots had been heard. In the interest of public and police safety, armed officers were deployed. On arrival at the scene, damage was found to have been caused to a property and a car parked on the driveway which were consistent with a firearm having been discharged.
