A driver has been arrested after a serious collision in Quorn has left two pedestrians injured. Police received a call at 3.33pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) following a report of a road traffic collision in Loughborough Road near to the junction with Granite Way. The collision involved a red Peugeot 3008 and two pedestrians – a man and a woman. The driver of the Peugeot was not injured. A body was discovered yesterday morning on Fosse Recreation Ground here in Leicester. A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: Officers were called to Fosse Recreation Ground in Leicester just after 6.30am yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) after the body of a man was discovered in the park. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for HM Coroner and identification will be a matter for the coroner.

A road closure is in place this evening on Loughborough Road between Mountsorrel and Quorn due to a serious Road Traffic collision. Police officers investigating an incident of affray in Braunstone are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward after eight people were arrested. Police were called to Winstanley Drive just after 5pm on Thursday (13 August) following a report that a group of men were fighting with weapons. Four girls who came forward after being groomed and blackmailed by a stranger into providing indecent content of themselves have been praised for their bravery and courage. Ben Dodd targeted the girls, aged 14 to 17, through social media and encouraged them to send him images and videos of a sexual nature. A dangerous motorist from North-West Leicestershire has been banned from driving after being caught travelling at more than twice the speed limit on a county road. Elliot Cave, 33, of The Moorlands, Coleorton, was detected driving his Honda Civic at 77mph in a 30mph section of the A511 Bardon Road near Coalville on 28 May this year.
