Man arrested after Two pedestrians were seriously injured in Quorn

A driver has been arrested after a serious collision in Quorn has left two pedestrians injured.



Police received a call at 3.33pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) following a report of a road traffic collision in Loughborough Road near to the junction with Granite Way.


The collision involved a red Peugeot 3008 and two pedestrians – a man and a woman.


The driver of the Peugeot was not injured.



The pedestrians were both taken to hospital where they remain with serious injuries.


A 67-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and released under investigation. 


The road was closed to allow emergency services to respond and has since reopened.



Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses.


We would like to speak to any motorists who were travelling through the area and may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand.


Anyone who may also have dashcam footage which captured anything relating to the collision is also asked to make contact.
