Man charged following fatal on A447 Cadeby

The driver of an HGV has been charged after a fatal collision in 2024 resulted in the death of a 53-year-old man.

William Roberts was driving a Volvo heavy tractor Arctic lorry when it collided with a grey BMW car being driven by Edward Humphreys.

The collision happened on the A447 Hinckley Road, Cadeby, on Thursday 21 November 2024.

Mr Humphreys was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, Roberts, 48, of Bag Lane, Atherton, Manchester, has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday 2 November.
