Dramatic drone pictures shows the aftermath of the fire at shopping centre in Thurmaston

Demolition started over the weekend to make the site safe.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The latest from the Fire service is that this incident has now been handed over to Leicestershire Police for investigation.

Fire Service received multiple calls at 4am on Saturday morning to reports of a large fire at Thurmaston Shopping Centre affecting several units.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service deployed 8 fire engines, 2 Aerial appliances and over 40 firefighters were in attendance.

The corner unit M&S food hall remains closed.
