Narborough Road murder investigation: Third person arrested

A third person has been arrested as detectives continue to investigate the death of George Glover.

Following our appeal to identify a man yesterday (Friday 21 August), a 24-year-

old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder last night and remains in custody.

A 31-year-old man and 39-year-old woman who were previously arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit murder also remain in custody.

Mr Glover, 27, died in hospital on Thursday (20 August) after he was punched as he cycled close to the junction with Noel Street at around 6.30am on Monday (17 August).

Officers from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) are continuing to appeal for anyone who can help, but who has not yet spoken to police, to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Kevin Hames said: “I’d like to thank everyone who’s come forward with information so far – particularly concerning the identity of the man previously pictured.

“If you can help but haven’t yet contacted us, please be assured it’s not too late and anything you’re able to provide – including any footage – could be vital to our investigation.”
