Police are appealing for information after three separate incidents of criminal damage in Sapcote.

Sometime between 7.15pm and 7.30pm on Saturday (31 October) three vehicles parked in the layby on the B4114 opposite the Leicester Road/Sapcote junction were damaged.

A white car - similar in description to a Nissan Juke - stopped and two men approached the occupants of these three vehicles.

Damage was caused to the vehicles with a baseball bat and homophobic abuse was shouted. The victim in one of these three vehicles sustained a small wound to his chest which is believed could have been caused by a ball bearing fired from a catapult.

The occupants of the white car were described as two men wearing balaclavas. A youth aged around 12-years-old was also in the vehicle with them.

Detective Sergeant Fraser MacIntosh said: “We’d like to speak to anyone who may be able to provide us with any information about who these people are.

“There is a possibility they may have approached others and carried out similar offences so we would be keen to speak to anyone who may have also been a victim and has not made contact with us or anyone who maybe saw them travelling around the area at this time.

If you have a dashcam in your vehicle, we would encourage you to check your footage to see if it captured something related to these incidents.

“Any information you may have could be of importance to our enquiries so please get in touch.”
