Armed police deployed after stand-off with man in Shepshed

Armed police are currently in Shepshed supported by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service and East Midlands ambulance service.
The police drone team is also deployed. Police are currently negotiating with a man.

A spokesperson from Leicestershire Police said:
This morning (Sunday 31 May) officers attended an address in Britannia Street to carry out an arrest attempt.
When they arrived, a man refused to leave the address.
Officers remain at the property at this time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Officers have now made an arrest after a man refused to leave a property in Shepshed.
On Sunday evening, police said a 51-year-old had been arrested on suspicion of affray and remained in custody.
