Emergency services are dealing with a Road Traffic collision on Saffron Lane near the junction of Knighton Lane East. A car has hit several parked vehicles and ended up on its side. Members of the public assisted in righting the vehicle back onto its wheels. There are no reports of any serious injuries. The road is closed in both directions; please avoid the area if possible. A Mile-Long stretch of Aylestone Road is to be resurfaced this summer, thanks to Government funding. The extensive works – which are expected to cost £740,000 – will repair and upgrade the carriageway between Hampshire Road in Aylestone, and Aylestone Road’s junction with Saffron Lane. Last night, an illegal e-bike rider collided with a drunk driver on Saffron Lane. The collision happened Saffron Lane around 9.30pm. Monday 1st June.
