Two charged in connection with Leicester Post Office robbery

Two men have been charged with a robbery in the St Matthews area of Leicester.

Shortly after 9.30am on Monday (18 January) police were called to Malabar Road following a report of robbery at a post office.


Last night (Wednesday), 33-year-old Jermaine Johnson, of Regent Road in Leicester, was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article.


Theo Taitt, 35, of Beatrice Road in Leicester was charged with robbery, possession of a bladed article and affray.


Both men are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday).

  • A 36-year-old man also arrested in connection with this offence was released on bail.
