The inaugural charity bike ride, Tour de Foxes was completed yesterday with funds raised and donated to the Leicestershire CCC Foundation.
The 80-mile bike ride was completed on the hottest day of the year so far with highs of 31 degrees, as 13 riders made their way from the Uptonsteel County Ground, around the county, visiting 11 local cricket clubs and finishing back at the home of the Running Foxes.
Over £3,500 has been raised so far for the Leicestershire CCC Foundation, of which two local charities, Healing Little Hearts and Alex’s Wish will benefit, alongside local cricket clubs and the LCCC Academy.
On completing the challenge Sean Jarvis, Leicestershire CCC CEO said: “Well it was an incredibly hot day, but all of the riders have done a fantastic job to complete the challenge.
“It was really tough, but to raise money for a great cause is always worth it. Donations are still more than welcome, so if you can, please donate to one of the riders.”
The riders were greeted back at the Uptonsteel County Ground by representatives from the two charities, Healing Little Hearts and Alex’s Wish.
