Officers have released images of graffiti in the Whetstone area and are appealing for information to help find those responsible.
Graffiti has been daubed on bus shelters, walls and park equipment, particularly around Dog and Gun Lane.
Each instance is of a similar style and often features the initials HLC.
Reports of graffiti began on Sunday 20 December.
PSCO Niko Sidiropoulos said: “This graffiti is taking up valuable time and money of Whetstone Parish Council and causing concern for local residents.
“We would urge anyone who could help identify those responsible to please get in touch.”
