Police report that an 18-year-old man, who was reported missing earlier this week, has been discovered dead in Ashby.

James Corlett, from Swadlincote in Derbyshire, did not come back home after spending a night out in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, on Thursday.

A missing person inquiry was launched by Derbyshire Police and transferred to the neighbouring Leicestershire force on Saturday, which confirmed a body had been found in the town.

Leicestershire Police said the man's death was "currently being treated as unexplained and further inquiries continue to be carried out".

Police added his family was being supported by specialist officers.
