Police hunt for a Hit and run driver in Coalville

Hit and run driver leaves the scene after causing serious injuries to a cyclist in Coalville this morning.

Leicestershire Police have release the following statement and appeal.

At 5.50am today (Sunday 8 August) police were called to London Road in Coalville following a report of a collision involving a car and a cyclist.

Officers attended and found that the car had left the scene. The cyclist, a man, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre to be treated for serious injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services attended and later reopened.

Enquiries to locate the car are continuing and anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 119 of Sunday 8 August.
