4 Fire crews called to House Fire in Thorpe Astley in the early hours of New Year’s Day.


House Fire Darien Way Thorpe Astley

Fire crews from Southern, Wigston & Western stations attended along with Aerial platform from Birstall station.


The Fire service were called at 02:28 to Darien Way in Thorpe Astley to reports of a Fire in roof.


Initial Fire service report.


“Call from the occupier reporting fire in roof of property. 2 appliances mobilised.


Assistance messages followed for third appliances and Aerial Ladder Platform.


House well alight. 2 breathing apparatus 2 hose reel and 1 main jet in use.”


The cause of the fire is under investigation.


No injuries have been reported.

Aerial Ladder Platform being got to work removing roof tiles and assessing integrity of roof.


Building inspector requested to attend.


Emergency Response vehicle (Red Cross) have also been requested.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault, with 80% damage to the roof and 40% smoke and water damage to house.


The fire service still remains at this scene this lunchtime.
