Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man that they wish to identify following an assault in Leicester earlier this year
The victim aged 22 was inside a takeaway in Belvoir Street around 11.50pm on Sunday 31 January, when he left the premises with another man. While they were talking in the street the man attacked the victim with a machete and slashed his back. The suspect left the scene along Belvoir Street towards Welford Road. The victim was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham and discharged after treatment. PC Robert Gist, the investigating officer, said: “As our investigation has progressed, we have obtained a CCTV image of a man we would like speak to in connection with this incident and therefore would like to appeal to anyone who may recognise this man to get in touch with us.”
