Dick and Dickens bring Festive Cheer to Loughborough Town Hall

Loughborough Town Hall is bringing two much-loved Christmas stories to the stage this festive season, with its first production of Dick Whittington and the return of Charles Dickens Presents A Christmas Carol.

From Saturday 21 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, award-winning producers Little Wolf Entertainment will take audiences on a pantomime adventure packed with music, comedy and colourful characters.

Dick Whittington heads to London in search of fame and fortune, but the promise of streets paved with gold soon gives way to a battle with a rather unpleasant rat. With Fairy Bow Bells and his trusty cat on hand to help, the scene is set for plenty of audience participation, slapstick and musical mischief.

The production features a West End-credited cast, elaborate sets and costumes, and a generous helping of feline-themed fun for families. Tickets start from £22, with prices varying by performance.

Meanwhile Scrooge and the spirits of Christmas past, present and future will take centre stage in the Victoria Room with Charles Dickens Presents A Christmas Carol on Tuesday 15and Wednesday 16 December at 7.30pm.

Actor John O’Connor recreates Charles Dickens’s own celebrated readings of A Christmas Carol, giving audiences a taste of how the author brought his much-loved ghost story to life. Dickens performed the story more than 150 times, captivating Victorian audiences with Scrooge’s encounters with Christmas past, present and future.

This faithful recreation offers a chance to experience the tale as its creator once told it and is the perfect way to get even the hardest of hearts in the festive spirit,

Tickets cost £14–£18 and the performance is recommended for ages 11 and over.
