A driver has died following a road traffic collision in Leicester overnight.
Police were called by East Midlands Ambulance Service at around 12.30am this morning (31 December) to a report of a single vehicle collision in Braunstone Lane East.
The vehicle, a grey VW Polo, was travelling towards Narborough Road before it left the road. The driver, a man in his twenties, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The road is currently closed between its junctions with Narborough Road and Aylestone Road.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle beforehand to please get in touch. Alternatively, they would be keen to hear from anyone who has any dash cam footage which may have captured anything related to the incident.
