34 Arrests made after protest activity in Meridian Way Braunstone
Officers are in attendance today (Thursday 8 October) at a protest outside a building in Meridian Way, Braunstone.

Officers from Leicestershire Police responded to protest activity at the site this morning. A number of people were at the location with material in support of a proscribed group.

A total of 34 people have been arrested under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 – to wear clothing or carry articles in public which arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of Palestine Action.

A number have also been arrested on suspicion of breaching bail conditions.
All those arrested remain in police custody at this time.
Officers remain at the location and Counter Terrorism Policing East Midlands (CTPEM) is leading the investigation.
Police continue to support the right to peacefully protest but we will also continue to take immediate action where reports of anyone seeking to commit crime or damage to property are made.
