A driver has been arrested after a serious collision in Quorn has left two pedestrians injured. Police received a call at 3.33pm yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) following a report of a road traffic collision in Loughborough Road near to the junction with Granite Way. A body was discovered yesterday morning on Fosse Recreation Ground here in Leicester. A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: Officers were called to Fosse Recreation Ground in Leicester just after 6.30am yesterday (Tuesday 18 August) after the body of a man was discovered in the park. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for HM Coroner and identification will be a matter for the coroner.

Winchester Avenue in Blaby is currently closed both ways this morning due to a road traffic collision involving 2 cars. A car has overturned after a collision and ended up in the central reservation on a busy road. Eyewitnesses say that local workers from the nearby industrial estate helped out the driver of the overturned car, and state that he has been taken to hospital. Free adult cycle training sessions at Leicester Cycle Circuit have been extended into September. The city council’s popular Ride Leicester training programme - which supports people aged 16 and over to learn to ride or improve their cycling skills - was due to finish on 24 August. Police officers investigating an incident of affray in Braunstone are appealing for anyone with information or footage to come forward after eight people were arrested. Four girls who came forward after being groomed and blackmailed by a stranger into providing indecent content of themselves have been praised for their bravery and courage. Ben Dodd targeted the girls, aged 14 to 17, through social media and encouraged them to send him images and videos of a sexual nature.
