Two fire crews are currently attending an incident in Abbey Park tonight. The fire appliances are parked along Abbey Park Road. A spokesperson from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that a report of a Canadian goose trapped by its legs on the water has been received. A car has ran into the wall this afternoon at Sainsbury’s Local on Moat Street in Wigston. The store will remain closed for safety reasons; a building inspection has been requested by the fire service. The car is well embedded into the brickwork, with a large piece of timber lying across the top of the roof. There are no reports of any injuries at this time. Pictures by Leicester Media Online

Emergency services are dealing with a Road Traffic collision on Saffron Lane near the junction of Knighton Lane East. A car has hit several parked vehicles and ended up on its side. Members of the public assisted in righting the vehicle back onto its wheels. There are no reports of any serious injuries. The road is closed in both directions; please avoid the area if possible.
