A third person has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in the Evington Road area of the city.
The 32-year-old, of Leicester, was arrested today (28 December) and is currently in police custody.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was found injured in Evington Road, near to the junction with Hamilton Road. He had injuries consistent with a stab wound and was taken to hospital where he later died.
Formal identification has not yet taken place.
Senior Investigating Officer DI Nicole Main from East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) said: “We are making progress in this investigation, with three people in custody.
“But we still want to hear from anyone who saw, or knows, what happened in the early hours of Monday morning; what happened that lead to this man’s death.
Two other men, aged 33 and 35, were arrested on Monday evening (27 December) on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody and are assisting with our enquiries.
