A spokesperson said:
Due to the heat warning, we have had to cancel the Summer Fete on Sunday. The event is postponed due to the warning and will be run at a later date this year
Summer Fete at Dane View Care Home.
Join us at Dane View Care Home’s Summer Fete at 165 Glenfield Road, Leicester LE3 6DP, on Saturday 13th August from 2pm till 5pm, when there will be a host of fun activities and stalls to entertain visitors – and all to raise money for the Comfort Fund, giving residents at the home great experiences and days out.
The Comfort Fund allows inclusivity, so that all residents get the opportunity to go on trips. Dane View is keen that everyone is treated fairly, equally and with dignity. Coming out of Covid means the home to restart resident outings. Planned excursions range from a mini-break in Blackpool to a boat cruise on the local canal.
The Summer Fete will include a fire engine manned by our wonderful local fire officers, a dog show, beat the goalie, the Dane View ‘Bake Off’ and a BBQ. Stalls such as tombola, raffle, cakes, splat the rat, bric-a-brac, crochet, hook a duck, plants (grown by residents), and other fun attractions, means there is something for everyone.
Our Fete is not only money-raising fun for the family on a Saturday afternoon, but entry gives visitors a great opportunity to find out more about Dane View and the care we provide for residents, including nursing and respite care.
The Dane View team will be on hand to answer questions and point out historical features and the extensive grounds, including a beautiful orchard that provides apples and plums for Dane View’s in-house chefs.
If you find yourself at a loose end and live near to Dane View, 165 Glenfield Road, Leicester LE3 6DP, call in to find out more and join in the fun.
Entry is FREE, but remember, everything you buy on a stall will help fund a residents outing!
