Police give reassurance to concerned residents after a weekend long chemical incident

A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said tonight.

“The scene preservation at an address in Glazebrook Road, Leicester, has been lifted.

Officers from the force and from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service have been at the property since Friday, following the discovery of some suspected chemical substances in an outbuilding.

It was following the arrest of a man of suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

The 35-year-old man has since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Since Friday, significant investigations have been carried out on the substances found.

As a result, at this time, there are no substances deemed to be dangerous at the address.

Thank you to everyone in the area for their patience while a cordon was in place for much of the weekend.”
