Leicestershire Police carried out numerous community engagement events, beat surgeries and hotspot patrols during national Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) awareness week which ran between Monday 18 July until Sunday 25 July.
ASB is targeted every day by the force with the national campaign putting it in the spotlight.Each day of the awareness week centred on a set theme, these were empowering communities, best practise, partnership and local delivery and the impact of ASB on young people.
The types of activity planned by Neighbourhood Policing Officers (NPOs) included meeting members of the community during meetings and events, opportunities to provide education and literature about ASB and how to report it and patrols of areas where it is known to take place.
Superintendent Paul Allen signed a pledge confirming Leicestershire Police’s ongoing commitment to the cause.Inspector Claire Hughes, force lead for ASB, attended the Resolve charity launch for the awareness week.
The focus of Resolve is community safety and antisocial behaviour.She said:“The launch event started ASB awareness week and included presentations from representatives from house of commons, Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), partners and police.
It was also a chance for the force to reaffirm its ongoing commitment to victims and working with partners to tackle ASB in communities.”
