STATEMENT FROM LEICESTER PRIDE
Leicester Pride is aware of an article published today by Leicester Mercury / Leicestershire Live concerning The Cork & Case.
We want to make it absolutely clear that The Cork & Case is in no way affiliated with, connected to, endorsed by or operated by Leicester Pride.
We are extremely concerned that the article has created an association between the venue and Leicester Pride which is misleading and has understandably caused concern among some of our sponsors, performers, partners and community organisations.
We apologise to anyone associated with Leicester Pride who has seen the article and subsequently felt the need to contact our team for clarification.
Our focus remains firmly on Leicester Pride 2026, taking place on Saturday 5 September, and on delivering one of the UK's largest free Pride celebrations for our LGBTQ+ communities, allies and the wider city.
Preparations for the event are continuing as planned and Leicester Pride 2026 is unaffected by the matters referred to in the article.
We are enormously grateful for the continued support of our sponsors, partners, performers, community organisations, volunteers and Leicester City Council as we prepare to welcome thousands of people to Leicester.
Given the seriousness of the misleading association that has been created, Leicester Pride will now be considering its position and taking appropriate advice, including in relation to potential legal action.
For that reason, we will not be commenting further on the specifics of the article at this time.
Our message to everyone looking forward to Leicester Pride is simple: we will see you on Saturday 5 September.
Pride goes ahead, and our community remains our priority.
