Food Fact Check: Can you get salmonella from eggs? What you need to know

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) are working together with other partners to investigate an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis believed to be associated with imported eggs.
The FSA have confirmed Eggs produced in the UK with the British Lion Mark or under the Laid in Britain scheme are safe to eat. Eggs which are thoroughly cooked and handled hygienically should not present a food safety risk.
