Celebrating 41 years of carnival here in Leicester. Thousands gathered to celebrate the Caribbean Carnival. This yearly festival was hosted at Victoria Park – featured a vibrant carnival parade that began at the park, proceeded through the city centre, and then returned. This year’s theme was Crowned by Culture - Caribbean Queens and Kings. Rolling road closures planned for carnival parade
Leicester’s Caribbean Carnival and parade take place this weekend and motorists are being advised there will be some temporary road closures in place. The popular annual event – which will be held on Victoria Park on Saturday 1 August – will include a colourful carnival parade starting at the park from midday, before heading into the city centre and back again.
