Allotments in Leicester are opening their gates to anyone who would like to find out more about growing your own food. Gardeners in Aylestone have teamed up with the city council to create a new communal allotment plot. Members of the Rookeries Allotment & Garden Society, based at allotments on Paget Street, have created the plot to help older members who want to carry on gardening but might not be able to manage a whole plot themselves.
