Driver charged following fatal Cotesbach collision that resulted in teen's death
The driver of a car involved in a collision which killed a teenage girl in Cotesbach has been charged. Jack Reape, 31, of Townley Road, Wakefield, has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving, one count of causing death by driving while disqualified and three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The charges relate to a collision involving two cars – a white Citroen C3 and a black Mercedes CLK – on Friday 15 December 2023 on the A426

Coalville Firefighters rescue Moggy stuck up in tree
Some Firefighters go through their entire career without rescuing a single cat from a tree, but the thing about cliches is every so often they come around! Poor old Rojak got stuck up a tree on Staples Drive in Coalville early yesterday evening, after his lead became caught in a tree branch 30ft from the ground, crews from Coalville Fire Station came to his rescue. Owners of two vehicles urged to come forward following stabbing in Glenfield
Officers investigating an incident in which a member of staff was stabbed outside a Glenfield fish and chip shop are appealing for the owners of two vehicles to come forward. More 20mph zones given the go-ahead in residential areas
Two new 20mph zones are set to be introduced close to schools in residential parts of Leicester. Leicester City Council has approved plans to place the reduced limit on a total of 46 streets in the Belgrave and Rushey Mead areas of the city. The proposed schemes are the latest in a rolling programme of 20mph zones citywide.
