A large police presence were seen on Narborough Road yesterday afternoon around 5pm. Armed police units attended a flat near to the bridge.
The road was closed to traffic and pedestrians for about 1 hour, a team of officers entered a 1st floor flat along with a drug search dog. police forensic officers also attended.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said today.
“At around 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday) a pre-planned search warrant was executed at a property in Narborough Road, Leicester.
In the interests of public and officer safety, armed officers were deployed to the scene.
In order to facilitate a safe working environment, Narborough Road was closed while the warrant was executed.
No arrests were made.
The road closure was lifted at around 5.50pm.
The search warrant was pre-planned.
Enquiries remain ongoing and local officers are continuing to assess the impact on the community and offer reassurance in the area.”
